FAQ and troubleshooting
My reminders are not firing
Keeplings schedules notifications directly on your device, so a few system settings need to allow it:
- Make sure notifications are allowed for Keeplings.
- Allow exact alarms. On Android 12 and later this is a separate permission (denied by default for new installs on Android 14+), and it is what lets the reminder land at the right minute. Without it, reminders still fire, just less precisely.
- Exclude Keeplings from battery optimization (also called deep sleep or aggressive power saving). Some manufacturers, including Samsung and Xiaomi, pause background apps unless you allow them to run.
Will reminders survive a restart?
Yes. After your device reboots, Keeplings re-schedules your upcoming reminders automatically, so you do not need to reopen the app to keep them working.
Do you have my data, and can you delete it?
Your reminders, creatures, and other content live only on your device; there is no account and no server copy of that content. If you chose to allow analytics, PostHog holds anonymous usage and crash data tied to a device identifier, not to you by name, and you can turn that collection off any time in Settings > Your data & privacy or ask us to delete it (see thePrivacy Policy). Uninstalling Keeplings removes its data from your device.
Can I back up or move my data?
Yes. Use the in-app export to save your data as a file through your device's normal share or save dialog, then useimport on another device (or after reinstalling) to bring it back. The file moves through your device, never through us.
Your privacy
Keeplings has no accounts, and the reminders and creatures you create stay on your device. To improve the app it offers optional, privacy-masked analytics and crash reporting, which you choose at first launch and can change any time in Settings > Your data & privacy. Read the fullPrivacy Policy for details and how to request deletion.
